19 Unforgettably Horrific Movie Bathroom Scenes

4. What Lies Beneath (2000)

This Supernatural thriller starring Harrison Ford and Michelle Pfeiffer uses the bathroom as a key setting. Claire (Pfeiffer) is convinced that her next door neighbor has been brutally murdered by her abusive husband and is certain that Mary, the victim, is now haunting her. Instead of going to check if Mary is still definitely alive, Claire decides to perform a seance in her bathroom where she is able to communicate with her ghost. Of course, the neighbour isn't actually dead and it turns out that Claire's husband Norman (Ford), is a cheating murderer instead and he then tries to drown Claire in the bathtub by giving her a sedative after she has made the chilling discovery of his infidelity and his crime. Impossibly, the drugs wear off just in time, but it's a harrowing, claustrophobic scene while it lasts.
