20 Absolutely Insufferable Film Characters Who Didn't Deserve THAT

The main characters in The Green Inferno can be placed in the same category as Lindsay and Jenny from The Human Centipede. They were an irritating and naïve gang of activists, and most viewers won't exactly have been hankering for their survival, but these poor sods were unlucky enough to be in an Eli Roth flick, and he's one of contemporary horror's kings of nastiness. Their deaths were so brutal that it's unlikely many will be cheering on the villains, a tribe of bloodthirsty cannibals in this case.

Even the hardest horror fans will be left feeling queasy by these exhaustingly unpleasant cannibalistic death scenes, and not in a good way. While unlikable characters can derail a film, in this case it would've been beneficial to make these guys as despicable as possible. All of this happening to characters who were, at worst, fools was a lot to stomach. 

To make matters worse, the only member of the group who's genuinely evil gets to survive while the nicest character, Jonah (Aaron Burns), gets one of the most sadistically nasty horror movie deaths of them all. If you know, you know, and if you don't know, you don't want to know. In the end, all of this unwarranted suffering made The Green Inferno an immensely upsetting affair that left the worst aftertaste. But hey, that's Eli Roth for you.
