20 Absolutely Insufferable Film Characters Who Didn't Deserve THAT

Back in the early 2010s, it was a surprise as to how great Chris Evans was as Captain America, for just a few years earlier, he'd played one of the most annoying movie superheroes ever. That was, of course, Johnny Storm/Human Torch from the mostly underwhelming Fantastic Four films directed by Tim Story.

Evans himself is, objectively speaking, perfectly fine in the part. It's more that the character is an absolute migraine. A cocky, smarmy frat-boy who never grows or develops in any meaningful way, Johnny Storm is an absolute tosser in every sense of the word, so it was hard to imagine that one would ever be pleased to see him again. 

But yes, his cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine was undeniably satisfying. Perhaps it was nostalgia, perhaps it was the clever way they tricked viewers into thinking it was Captain America at first; regardless, this cameo was a genuinely good surprise. And then, he gets gruesomely killed by main antagonist Cassandra (Emma Corrin), and, yeah, it was kind of sad, actually, even if he was a wanker.
