Almost was: Star Lord In a move similar to his UK counterpart (Martin Freeman), John Krasinski, who played Jim (née Tim) in the US version of The Office, has made a strong effort to break into blockbusters. And it appeared a few years ago he'd done it, reportedly landing the lead role in Captain America. That was until Chris Evans jumped on the screen and flung a shield through Krasinski's hope of being the First Avenger. He didn't give up though, putting his face mask in the ring for the role of Star Lord. Again a strong favourite for the role, he stumbled like many did at that crucial screen test stage. With such persistence some day he has to end up in a Marvel movie. It's just not Guardians Of The Galaxy. Or Captain America.
