3. Jason Momoa

Almost Was: Drax Jason Momoa first became a fixture on our screens Stargate: Atlantis, but didn't become an audience favourite until he starred as Khal Drogo, leader of the Dothraki, in the first season of Game Of Thrones. Big and brutish, but with a soft side and strong sense of honour, Drogo seems like the perfect training for playing the character Drax. Danerys' Sun and Stars so very nearly found himself among the stars himself when he was offered the role of the vengeful killer. Not just considered or auditioned; Momoa was actually offered the role. However, he turned it down in fear that it would leave him typecast (it also shares some common elements with Conan The Barbarian), so the role went back out for the likes of Mustafa and Bautista to fight over. Momoa has ended up taking a role with Marvel's rival, D.C. Comics. Far from the big hulk he's played before, he'll be taking on Aquaman, the most ridiculed of all the superheroes, in Batman V. Superman: Dawn Of Justice and beyond.
