Almost was: Star Lord Remember when when we said Jim Sturgess got to the final three for Star Lord? Well the other two were an at the time unnamed actor (probably Chris Pratt) and Zachary Levi, star of action-comedy TV series Chuck. Although he's had some other big roles, including Marvel's own Thor: The Dark World (where he was taking over Fandral from Josh Dallas, so no continuity problem), it's certainly his role as Chuck Bartowski that got him so close to the role. Starting off as a massive dork stuck in a computer store, the series saw Chuck (through a mixture of high tech wizardry and actual experience) become a competent super spy. Doofus becomes hero? Hello Peter Quill. Levi was hardly rumoured before the supposed shortlist, so odds are that he (and Pratt, who likewise wasn't rumoured until just before getting the role) was a contender pushed specifically by James Gunn.
