Almost was: Star Lord Eddie Redmayne came to audience's attention singing about songs of angry men and opposing colours in Les Miserables, where he played the revolutionary Marius who falls in love with Cosette after meeting her once. Ah, the theatre. In the grand tradition of British thespians, Redmayne learnt his trade on the stage, starring in a handful of Shakespeares and winning critical acclaim and awards for his role in Red (the play, not the film). It was only with Les Mis that he really gained attention on the big screen, however, with it opening many opportunities for even bigger projects. Around the same time the musical hit, Redmayne's name kept popping up in reference to Star Lord, with the actor going as far to screen test for the role. His next film is one of the villains in the Wachowski's Jupiter Ascending, which has just been pushed back from the prime summer slot to the flop wasteland of February.
