Almost was: Rocket As with Sharlto Copley an actor who has put some time into hiding his native twang (in this case Scottish), David Tennant was one of the actors up to voice Rocket. Obviously most well known for Doctor Who, with his bipolar take on the time lord beginning the show's journey over to America, Tennant has the profile to pick from a wide range of projects, swinging from Shakespearean tragedy to bleak murder mystery and then to kids animation with ease. For a while he was favourite to get the coveted voice role, only giving way when rumours of Bradley Cooper's involvement appeared. Whether Tennant was actually offered the role, or just considered, hasn't been confirmed, although we have to question the logic of picking Tennant unless you want a Scottish racoon; he's well known, but his name isn't the same level draw as Cooper.
