20 Actors You Didn't Know Almost Played X-Men
12. Alice Eve Was Almost Emma Frost
Before January Jones rocked one of the sexiest comic book movie costumes in the history of the genre, Emma Frost was almost played by another actress entirely, as Alice Eve had been thought to be a nailed on certainty to sign on to the role initially. That supposed done deal didn't go through as planned despite Eve being firmly in negotiations for the character, and apparently having agreed to take on the role before a change of heart saw her pull out.
According to Comic Book Movie, Eve wasnt happy with the way the First Class script had been rewritten and felt it was no longer right that she play the role, which is probably explained in the final film by the way Frost is almost relegated to scantily clad side-kick to Sebastian Shaw who basically treated her like a glorified lap dog. The specific rewrites could well have been the cutting of the rumoured dream action sequence that Matthew Vaughn cut because it was too similar to Inception.
The relationship between Fox and Eve wasn't entirely soured, since she was apparently wanted for a role in the Fantastic Four reboot (even though that ultimately went to Kate Mara - unless they were going for a really off-kilter casting for The Thing... like, say, Jamie Bell.)
