20 Actors Who Died In 2020

You may not know the name Hugh Keays-Byrne, but you'll most likely know who Immortan Joe is, the villain of 2015's Oscar-winning masterpiece Mad Max: Fury Road.

Keays-Byrne played the action extravaganza's imposing antagonist to perfection, in a role which won him much acclaim and publicity. The icing on the cake, of course, is that he previously also played Toecutter, the antagonist of the original 1979 Mad Max film.

Mad Max director George Miller perhaps paid tribute to him best:

"At first I found him formidable to the point of being scary because he was so into the role. The truth is he is a warm and sweet person and so embracing of everybody… I learned acting from him, probably more than anybody else that I worked with."

Keays-Byrne died of undisclosed causes on December 2 at the age of 73.
