20 Actors Who Just Had Awesome Comebacks

1. Rolf Saxon

Mission Impossible The Final Reckoning
Paramount

Character actor Rolf Saxon is best known for his brief but memorable role as CIA analyst William Donloe in the original Mission: Impossible, and in the three decades since he's appeared in just a handful of major movies, most notably Tomorrow Never Dies, Saving Private Ryan, and Entrapment - each within a few years of Mission: Impossible's release.

Other than this Saxon has kept a relatively low profile, narrating the U.S. version of the Teletubbies and working mostly on stage.

But that all changed when Saxon was invited to reprise the role of Donloe in the eighth and apparently final Mission: Impossible, The Final Reckoning.

The call was so unexpected that Saxon thought it was a joke at first, and has clearly relished the opportunity to return to a part he quite understandably assumed would be a one-off.

Whether this leads to a wider career resurgence for Saxon in Hollywood or not, he came back to Mission: Impossible three decades on and absolutely nailed a most unexpected reunion.
