20 Actors You Never Knew Were In Star Wars

18. Joel Edgerton - Attack Of The Clones & Revenge Of The Sith

Years before he came to mainstream prominence in films such as 2010's Animal Kingdom and 2011's Warrior, Australian actor Joel Edgerton played a younger version of Anakin Skywalker's (Hayden Christensen) stepbrother Owen Lars, who Anakin crosses paths with in Attack of the Clones while seeking out his mother, Shmi (Pernilla August).

He re-appears in Revenge of the Sith as he and his partner Beru (Bonnie Piesse) end up taking custody of a young Luke. Even so, this most unexpected appearance from a young Edgerton is quite head-turning indeed.

In addition to being "f**king over the moon" that he won a part in the franchise, Edgerton has spoken about how even this minor role opened doors for him:

"Star Wars allowed me, in that 18-month period while they were putting the movie together, to bluff my way into any meeting I wanted. 'I'm in Star Wars. I'm not telling you that I'm only in it for five minutes and that I don't have a lightsaber.' I would have meetings with people, and let them believe I was a larger part of the story than I actually was. That was a good time and allowed me to get my first job out of the States."
