16. Dominic West - The Phantom Menace
A few years before he won the career-defining role of Detective Jimmy McNulty in HBO's The Wire, Dominic West made a brief cameo in The Phantom Menace.
West played a member of Queen Amidala's palace guard on Naboo, who Anakin (Jake Lloyd) is seen asking to be granted access to Amidala's chambers.
Despite the inconsequential nature of the role, West's character does actually have a name in Star Wars lore - Jerus Jannick.
West stated in interviews that he was offered to play either a palace guard or Naboo officer, but ultimately he ended up playing a character who qualified as both.
Despite being a small role, it was certainly a step up from playing a photographer in Spice World...
