13. Best 'So Bad It's Good' Movie - Geostorm
Apparently having learned nothing from starring in Gods of Egypt, Gerard Butler once again stars in a hilariously awful blockbuster that seems to have arrived a decade too late and features rubbish CGI, wonderfully crap dialogue and talented actors thinking only of a paycheck.
If Geostorm seemed like little more than a Roland Emmerich rip-off, that's because it pretty much was. First-time director and co-writer Dean Devlin is Emmerich's right-hand man, having helped script and produce both Independence Day movies, Stargate and Godzilla.
What follows is absolute can barely be explained. Butler is a genius-level space architect of some description, the plot has something to do with weather satellites and a White House conspiracy, and various cities are destroyed in unconvincing fashion as we all speculate whether or not the dog survives. It does.
But when taken at face value as a masterclass in bad filmmaking, or even viewed through a haze after a night out, Geostorm is utter crap of the highest unintentionally hilarious quality.
