Neil Marshall's Dog Soldiers may not be high art, but it sure is one of the most ludicrously entertaining werewolf movies of all time, remaining a firm cult fave for more than 20 years since release.

A sequel has been periodically talked up by various parties over the years, and one in fact almost started shooting in 2004 without Marshall's involvement before being scrapped.

After other attempts fell by the wayside, in 2023 Marshall revealed that he was working on his own Dog Soldiers 2, which was "close" to being made if various legal issues could be dealt with.

But in late 2024, Marshall announced that though the sequel was almost greenlit, negotiations fell through with the rights holders, making it impossible for Dog Soldiers 2 to happen.

Given that Marshall additionally revealed he was instead working on a spiritual successor to Dog Soldiers called The Werewolves of London, it seems like he's well and truly given up on it.
