Tucker and Dale vs. Evil was by no means a smash hit upon release in 2010, but over the last decade-and-a-half it's endured as a cult classic horror-comedy, enough that it was even recently remade in South Korea under the title Handsome Guys.

Alan Tudyk and Tyler Labine's hilarious chemistry ensured that many were eager to see them back as the titular hillbilly pair getting roped into yet another horrific series of unfortunate events, and filmmaker Eli Craig was also keen to make it happen.

However, in 2017 Tudyk bluntly revealed that Tucker and Dale vs. Evil 2 was ultimately scrapped because the script "wasn't any good," with Labine adding that it's simply difficult to sequelise an original concept that's more-or-less a one-note joke, even one as hilarious as this.

Last year, Craig also revealed that a TV series sequel almost got made, but was culled at the last minute by Warner Bros. Discovery's resident ghoul/CEO David Zaslav.

The series would've seen the duo as detectives investigating various mysteries and continually being totally wrong about what's happening as bodies pile up around them.

As fun as it would've been to see more of these terrific characters in some form, sometimes a movie is just a perfect little gem whose mere existence is something of a miracle.
