20 Awesome Moments When Comic Book Movie Villains Totally Owned

4. Bane Breaks The Bat - The Dark Knight Rises

Lured to the sewers by a deceitful Selina Kyle, Bruce Wayne - only partially recovered from injuries sustained from years of work as Gotham's caped crusade - is trapped in an makeshift arena by Bane and his henchmen. There, he's forced to face off against his most formidable opponent yet - not in a battle of wits, but in a show of brute strength. Bane, of course, has the edge, given that he's built like a brick sh*thouse and Bruce is considerably out of shape. It doesn't help matters that Bane is better at combat with the lights off, having been "moulded" by darkness. After being kicked around for a few minutes, Batman finally falls, his iconic mask shattered. Then, riffing on the iconic comic book scene, Bane lifts Batman off of the ground, raises him above his head, and brings him crashing down on his knee, breaking our hero's back in two. Total ownage.
