5. Magneto & The Missiles - X-Men: First Class

Scattered along a beach front, a young Magneto, alongside Charles Xavier and the rest of the X-Men, look upon certain death as several military ships swivel their guns to face this First Class of mutant heroes. It's then that dozens and dozens of missiles are fired towards the beach - Magneto, now at what appears to be the height of his powers, stops them all in their tracks with an outstretched hand. As they hover in the air, Xavier attempts to talk his old buddy down, begging him not to send the weapons of mass destruction, citing their position as "better men." But Magneto is too far gone. "I've been at the mercy of men who were just following orders," he says. "Never again." And with that, he sends them all flying back to the place where they came from minutes ago, his transition to full-on villain very nearly completed.
