20 Awesome Moments When Comic Book Movie Villains Totally Owned
16. Scarecrow Sends Falcone Insane - Batman Begins
Cillian Murphy brought the right amount of creepy to his villain, Dr. Jonathan Crane, in all three chapters of Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy... but the moment when we first see this mild-mannered psychologist as his alter ego, the Scarecrow, it's downright terrifying. Using specially-designed fear gas to intimidate his enemies, the Scarecrow is a psychological nightmare. So when he dons that famous burlap sack and tortures Falcone - who has been transferred to Arkham Asylum - there's no doubt that we're witnessing a villain at the top of his game.
15. Loki Vs. Security Guard - The Avengers
The Golden Boy of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is, without a doubt, Loki, whose loose - and rather delicious - morals put him somewhere between "villain" and "anti-hero." But given that he does try to destroy the world in The Avengers by opening up an inter-dimensional portal to an alien world, we'll go with the villain tag for now. This little moment occurs towards the beginning of the Avengers, whereupon the God of Mischief - dressed in a black suit and wielding a cane like a dandy - wanders down a staircase, twirls his stick and whacks a security guard upside the head.
