20 Awesome Movies You Didn't Know Were Still Coming In 2020
9. Batman: Death In The Family
Though the Batman comic "A Death in the Family" received little critical attention upon its initial 1988 release, in the three decades since its esteem has grown considerably, and it continues to be remembered as one of the Dark Knight's most vital comic arcs.
It isn't much of a spoiler to say that the story is centered around the torture and murder of former Robin Jason Todd at the hands of The Joker, and now the story will get an R-rated animated adaptation.
Though Warner Bros. Animation's DC output is incredibly hit and miss, it's easy to be optimistic given that Death in the Family is being both written and directed by Brandon Vietti, who previously helmed the universally acclaimed adaptation of Batman: Under the Red Hood.
And in a first, the movie will also allow viewers to make story decisions, just as comic readers were able to vote on Jason Todd's fate back in 1988.
Batman: Death In The Family hits home video on October 13th.
