20 Awesome Movies You Didn't Know Were Still Coming In 2020

This post-apocalyptic action rom-com director Michael Matthews (Five Fingers for Marseilles) looks like an absolute blast, following Joel Dawson (Dylan O'Brien), a young man who has been living underground ever since giant monsters invaded Earth seven years prior.

After he receives a radio transmission from his high school girlfriend Aimee (Jessica Henwick), however, Joel decides to return above ground in pursuit of her, no matter the human-devouring beasts which now walk the Earth.

With a crackerjack cast - also including the brilliant Michael Rooker as a deranged hunter - this looks like a winning mix of heartfelt romance and visually enticing, gloriously gooey action.

Despite its theatrical release being culled in favour of a VOD drop, there aren't any obvious signs that Paramount's anticipating a dud. Fingers crossed.

Love and Monsters is released on VOD on October 16th.
