20 Awesome Recent Horror Movies You'll Never Watch Again
4. Dead Mail
Few horror films are as skin-crawlingly uncomfortable as Dead Mail - a horror-thriller from duo Joe DeBoer and Kyle McConaghy, centered around a dead letter investigator who attempts to track down a kidnapped keyboard technician.
As ridiculous a setup as that might sound, DeBoer and McConaghy spin a riveting quasi-detective yarn out of this premise, which with its grainy 16mm-aping aesthetic, feels like an exploitation film ripped straight out of the 1970s.
And even though it's not particularly explicit as horror movies go, the overall vibes are so off that you'll probably want to go take a shower long before the end credits have rolled.
It's a film that seeps into your pores with its grotty, dingy style, yet as well made and brilliantly acted as it is, it's for precisely these reasons that revisiting it is a tough prospect - or at least something you'll need to psyche yourself up for.
