20 Awesome Recent Horror Movies You'll Never Watch Again
3. Borderline
Jimmy Warden's directorial debut Borderline received relatively mixed reviews last year, though already feels destined to be a cult fave long-term.
This is largely thanks to Ray Nicholson's phenomenal performance as a deranged stalker who breaks into the home of his obsession, pop star Sofia (Samara Weaving), amid the belief they're to be married.
Nicholson's commanding presence is so overwhelming here that even the ever-great Samara Weaving plays second fiddle to him, in what's one of the most bizarre yet tough-to-shake blackly comedic horror films of recent times.
It's certainly not for all tastes, though, especially with Nicholson's performance being such a big, swinging-for-the-fences effort - and one entirely worthy of his father Jack (yes, that one).
You might be good on another viewing, then, but Nicholson's two-hander with Weaving, and every peculiar creative call Warden makes along the way, are enough to make this unforgettable after just one watch.
