20 Awesome Recent Horror Movies You'll Never Watch Again
5. Presence
Presence is one of the oddest and most memorable horror films of the last few years - a beguiling experiment from Steven Soderbergh that's ultimately less a horror film than it is a supernatural drama with some genre window-dressing.
Soderbergh's film has been rightly praised for its unique presentation, unfolding entirely from the first-person perspective of a ghostly entity, as well as the strong performances of its cast.
Like a lot of mood-piece movies, there's nothing quite like the first viewing as you let the experience wash over you, and so once the film's big tricks are known - especially its climactic twist - another sit just won't be the same.
And of course, even some of those who liked Presence might not feel hugely compelled to revisit a film that marketed itself as more horror-forward when, in fact, it's actually a relatively meditative, horror-adjacent piece of work.
