11. Bell Rocket Belt (Thunderball)

Bond's method of escape after assassinating SPECTRE operative Jacques Bouvar in the opening scene of Thunderball is this Hydrogen Peroxide powered jetpack. At first watch, such an escape may seem a tad far-fetched and over dramatic, but the Bell Rocket Belt used was an actual working piece of machinery funded by the US military, and the flight did in fact take place thanks to stunt pilots Gordon Yaeger and Bill Suitor. The shots in which Connery's face can be seen are rear projection special effects, but all other shots are genuine. The Bell Rocket Belt proved to be so popular that it has made a number of other appearances throughout Bond history. Not only is it stored in Q's London Underground lab in Die Another Day, but it also features as a usable vehicle in the 2005 video game adaptation of From Russia With Love.
