20 Best James Bond Gadgets

2. Walther PPK

Bond's firearm of choice, at least for the majority of his outings, deserves honourable mention here. Where would he be without it? Would he have even made it halfway through Dr. No? The PPK was 007's replacement for the Beretta that had jammed and landed him in hospital. He may not have been keen to begin with, but after fifty years with one under his pillow, we'd wager he's pretty happy with it now. Ben Whishaw's Q reintroduced the Walther (this time the PPK-S) in Skyfall, updated with a palm print reader on the handle. "Less of a random killing machine, more of a personal statement." Admittedly, Bond's gun may not qualify as a 'gadget' as such, but it is central to the character and the series. Remember, it's not always about flashing lights and exploding pens. When it comes back to basics, Bond is a classic front line soldier, and it's his firearm that defines him.
