Utilising different aspect ratios to represent different timelines and a host of quirky cinematic effects including some exception miniature work, it's full of beautifully inventive imagery.

The Grand Budapest Hotel is also one of Anderson's most fun movies to watch, with a truly hilarious performance from Ralph Fiennes as M. Gustave, concierge to the titular hotel who sets out to clear his name after being wrongly accused of murder.
