7. The Frying Pan & Bullet Trick - American Ultra
Covert CIA asset and slacker stoner Mike Howell (Jesse Eisenberg) has his deep-seated programming "activated" at the start of the movie, after which a fleet of CIA assassins are sent to kill him by order of douche villain Adrian Yates (Topher Grace). In one exchange where Mike is attacked at home, he comes up with a masterstroke of ultra-violence, crouching down in his kitchen, throwing a frying pan up into the air, shooting a bullet at it at just the right angle, and so deflecting the bullet into his attacker, killing him instantly as he's sent flying across the room. Howell then gets up and sarcastically recalls "the old frying pan bullet trick". The movie may have its share of issues, but this scene is pure gold. Sadly, though, they gave it away in the trailers as a desperation move to get people to see the film, and it somehow didn't work.
