The Revenant may finally be the one that snags Leo his long-awaited Oscar, and he certainly looks to have suffered for his art for it. The movie was apparently a nightmare to make, with miserable filming conditions and a perfectionist director making sure nobody was having a fun time on set. The scene thats shocking people the world over is when Leo is attacked by a grizzly bear and - watching the scene itself - its easy to see why. The attack is absolutely wrenching, with Leos character being tossed around like a rag doll by the unstoppable beast. Its not much of a fight from his point of view because the bear repeatedly mauls him, but he has to use his brains to outsmart it before it rips his head off. Its a terrifying, visceral sequence which is all the more impressive for the single take camerawork used to capture it; when its over, youll want to personally hand Leo that Oscar yourself.
