20 Best Movie Taglines Of All Time

6. Crank: High Voltage

The tagline: ‘He was dead… but he got better.’

And the winner of best tagline for the worst film is Crank: High Voltage. Crank, the Jason Statham actioner released in 2006, was hardly an ambassador for high taste, but it was a boatload of fun; brash, trashy and with its tongue firmly in its cheek at all times.

And the sequel steps up the stupid as Chev Chelios, the Stath’s marvellously-monikered hitman who plunged thousands of feet from a helicopter and landed on a car at the first film’s climax, is shown to have survived. Obviously.

Now fitted with an artificial heart that requires frequent jolts of electricity to keep it beating, Chelios goes on a rampage that will see nipples sliced off, breast implants popped and all manner of other depravities ensue.

In fact, High Voltage is so desperate to disgust and offend its viewers that it literally raises a middle finger to them right at the death.

Sometimes you just have to tip your hat.

I watch movies and I watch sport. I also watch movies about sport, and if there were a sport about movies I'd watch that too. The internet was the closest thing I could find.
