20 Best Movies About The Movies Of All Time

13. La La Land

Hail Cesare
Summit Entertainment

Equal parts about the music industry as it is about the film industry, La La Land is an ode to ambitions and the things we are willing to sacrifice to achieve our dreams.

Here, aspiring actress Mia (Emma Stone) falls in love with Jazz pianist Sebastian (Ryan Gosling) as the two of them attempt to balance their feelings for each other while working towards achieving their goals.

Damien Chazelle became the youngest recipient of the Best Director Oscar for his work on this musical experience that takes a lot of inspiration from the work of older Hollywood films. Stone and Gosling have great chemistry together but it is Stone's work in the second half that is truly outstanding.

To be great in this business you have to fully give yourself over to your ambitions at the cost of everything else that is important to you, and Stone and Chazelle do a stellar job of representing that inner conflict.
