20 Best Movies Starring The Friends Cast

7. The Good Girl (Jennifer Aniston)

The Good Girl is surely the most fascinating film in Jennifer Aniston's entire filmography, a dementedly dark comedy in which depressed 30-year-old Justine (Aniston) embarks on an affair with a younger co-worker (Jake Gyllenhaal) in the hope of escaping her tedious marriage and life.

Miguel Arteta's film walks an incredibly delicate tonal tightrope, because it could so easily have descended into outright farce with some of its more left-field plot twists.

But thanks to disarmingly truthful performances from Gyllenhaal and especially Aniston, The Good Girl can be taken seriously in all of its heightened dramatics.

Aniston even scooped a Best Female Lead nomination at the Independent Spirit Awards for her efforts, and she's never had a riper opportunity to showcase her considerable dramatic chops. More films like this please, Jen.
