20 Best Movies Starring The Friends Cast
5. Easy A (Lisa Kudrow)
If John Hughes was still with us and making movies back in 2010, there's a good chance it would've ended up something like Easy A.
An uncommonly frank depiction of the high school experience, cruelty and all, Easy A bucks the typical coming-of-age cliches with a genuine examination of burgeoning sexuality and, in particular, the culture of slut-shaming.
Emma Stone is terrifically cast as plucky lead Olive, but this is very much a group effort, with a distinguished ensemble cast - especially Stanley Tucci and Patricia Clarkson - helping strike just the right tone between drama and comedy.
Lisa Kudrow also has an unexpectedly memorable role as Olive's guidance counsellor Mrs. Griffith, whose character isn't quite the quirky weirdo you might at first think. There's a good deal more interesting than that going on here, and she totally nails it.
