Another rock solid tale of suburban discontent from Nicole Holofcener (Please Give, Enough Said), The Land of Steady Habits saw Ben Mendelsohn stepping away from playing cartoonish blockbuster villains to portray a down-on-his-luck sad-sack coping with a mid-life crisis.

Mendelsohn continues to earmark himself as one of the hottest character actors of his generation with yet another effortlessly compelling turn, while Edie Falco and Thomas Mann provide strong support as his ex-wife and son respectively.

It's probably the whitest movie released on Netflix this past year, but if you're in the mood for a cinematic dose of middle-class malaise porn, it more than delivers the goods.
