20 Best Netflix Original Movies Of 2019 - Ranked

14. Fractured

Fractured Sam Worthington
Netflix

Your 2019 reminder that Sam Worthington still exists, Fractured is a decent little thriller that sadly doesn't have enough originality to go along with its haunting atmosphere and strong lead performance.

Stop us if you've heard this one before: a person's family suddenly goes missing, and everyone around said person is adamant that the family never existed in the first place. It's a concept that has been used in so many movies (Flight Plan, Changeling) that it's quite hard to fully get lost in Fractured's mystery, because you know that something's wrong from the outset and the twist is pretty easy to guess.

As we mentioned though, Worthington is quite terrific here, putting on one of the best displays of his career, and the violence and gore in the third act does provide enough thrills to make it worth watching through to the end.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for over ten years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. In 2022, he took charge of WhoCulture and has grown it into the biggest Doctor Who channel on YouTube, and one of the biggest Doctor Who communities on the web full-stop. He has been writing and video editing since his early teens, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers, off the back of a burning obsession with the Matt Smith era of the show. Like many his age, he first got into Doctor Who with the 2005 revival, but has since gone back and fallen in love with the classic years too. If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order, or to give you a random factoid about the making of Gridlock, Danny is the person to ask!
