Along with Martin Scorsese, Noah Baumbach and several other prominent filmmakers over the last year or so, Steven Soderbergh has also partnered with Netflix, releasing his latest movie, The Laundromat, in the middle of October.

While the film is annoyingly uneven and it doesn't always feel like Soderbergh has a firm grasp on the story (it's split up into a handful of different segments narrated by Gary Oldman and Antonio Banderas), the director has assembled an insanely top-tier cast for the project, and they're all reliably fantastic in their roles.

Oldman, Banderas, Meryl Streep, Jeffrey Wright, Sharon Stone, Robert Patrick, and David Schwimmer - to name a few - make the potentially dull subject of money laundering highly engaging to watch, and thanks to Soderbergh keeping things relatively breezy, The Laundromat is a fun ride that moves at a brisk pace.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
