20 Best Performances In MCU History (So Far)
7. Michael B. Jordan - Erik Kilmonger
It wouldn't be an overstatement to call Black Panther one of the MCU's greatest films, and one of the reasons for that comes down to its brilliant ensemble cast. Lupita Nyong'o, Letitia Wright, Danai Gurira, and of course Chadwick Boseman all soared in their roles.
But even so, it's surely Michael B. Jordan's brief turn as the film's antagonist Erik Kilmonger that stands above the competition, as the actor puts everything he has into a character who brutally conflicts with T'Challa's worldview and vies for the Wakandan throne.
Troubled by his country's past and relationship to the rest of the world, Kilmonger represents the struggles of Africa to overcome its harrowing history of oppression and racism, and Jordan brings his grievances and pain to life with a performance that is as raging as it is physically demanding and eventually soul-destroying.
There have been dozens of great villains in the MCU, but none quite as personal and provocative as Jordan's portrayal of Erik Kilmonger.
