20 Best Performances In MCU History (So Far)
3. Elizabeth Olsen - Wanda Maximoff/Scarlett Witch
Though you can throw some complaints at Elizabeth Olsen for her accent changes, they're more an issue with the writing than her performance (even if it can be quite distracting once you notice it). That aside, there should be no issue with Olsen's placement on this list.
Introduced as a genetically altered Sokovian deeply traumatised by all the war and death she's witnessed, Wanda Maximoff is initially portrayed by Olsen as a troubled and uncertain woman who sides with a maniacal Ultron before being brought into the Avengers by Hawkeye.
After the death of her brother, Wanda becomes an Avenger broken up by her past and unable to confront the full extent of her powers, and in time falls in love with Vision and finds her world torn apart by Thanos.
Particularly in WandaVision, Olsen's portrayal of uncertainty and grief has been astounding and raw, her commitment to Wanda's struggles flawless with every twist. With a substantial role incoming with the long-awaited Doctor Strange sequel, her performance may get even better yet.
