20 Best & Worst Movies From 2019 Oscar Nominees
3. Rami Malek
Best: Bohemian Rhapsody (2018)
Putting aside everything that is wrong with Bohemian Rhapsody and the controversies around both its production and its material choices, there's no getting around the fact that Rami Malek is stunning as Freddie Mercury.
He might not have the best material, since the wrong people had creative control and too many agendas meant we missed out on Freddie's truest story, but there is enormous reward both in Ramek's mimicry of Mercury and his performance of a man haunted both by vulnerabilities and his own drive to be something more.
Worst: Need For Speed (2014)
Need For Speed was supposed to be the Aaron Paul's first big vehicle (ironically) after Breaking Bad, taking advantage of the success of the Fast & Furious franchise. It ended up being a dull, idiotic disaster of a thing that wholly wasted its cast and fundamentally failed to find the right tone.
