20 Biggest Mistakes In The DCEU So Far
16. All The Executive Meddling
It's no secret that Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad were chopped to pieces by Warner Bros. executives who thought they knew better than the artists they hired in the first place.
As a result, BvS' theatrical cut was scarcely coherent, and only with the subsequent release of the Ultimate Edition did a lot of the character motivations make some semblance of sense.
Suicide Squad, meanwhile, had roughly half-a-dozen cuts floating around during production, including one assembled by Trailer Park, the editing house that worked on trailers for the movie. Post-production was reportedly a tug-of-war between David Ayer's darker sensibilities and the studio's wish for a lighter end product, resulting in the awkward mish-mash of the two that finally got released.
At least Wonder Woman didn't feel remotely fiddled with, and though Justice League is currently in the middle of reshoots, hopefully this isn't a result of a nervous studio trying to salvage a mess, as some sites have reported (though the same was also said about Wonder Woman, and look how that turned out).
