20 Biggest Movies Of 2016: What Do We Already Know?

2. Captain America: Civil War

Release Date: May 6, 2016. Who's Involved: The Russo Brothers return to direct Cap's next adventure, which is being written by returning scribes Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Frank Grillo (now as Crossbones) and Anthony Mackie are back in their respective roles, and are joined by Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther and Daniel Bruhl as Baron Zemo. It's also incredibly likely that whoever is cast to play the MCU Spider-Man will make a cameo (possibly in a post-credit scene). What's The Story?: After the destruction that occurs in Avengers: Age of Ultron, the governments of the world team up to draft the Superhuman Registration Act, which requires all superheroes to identify themselves on a register in order to heighten accountability. When Captain America (who opposes the Act) comes to blows with Iron Man (who, driven by his previous failures, supports it), the Avengers find themselves torn down the middle. Will It Be Any Good?: This is widely being touted as a movie on the same scale as any Avengers film, and given how beloved the Civil War arc is, there's a lot to be excited about. Marvel Studios haven't gone wrong yet with their most epic efforts, so expectations are very high.
