20 Characters Most Changed From The Comics In The MCU

16. Drax

Dave Bautista's Drax the Destroyer was one the surprise successes of the brilliant Guardians Of The Galaxy. His quirk of taking everything literally gave audiences laughs and he was bad-ass in combat - but he was a very different animal to the comic book version of the character. In the comics, Drax is an artificially created character. The powerful being Kronos (Thanos' grandfather) took the spirit of human character Arthur Douglas - a man whose family was attacked and killed by Thanos - and placed it in a powerful new body with the express purpose of killing Thanos. He possesses superhuman physical statistics, can detect where other beings (particularly Thanos) are and can fire energy blasts. Bautista's version was essentially just an incarcerated alien with enhanced physical prowess, good fighting skills and particularly good skills when it came to using knives. His link with Thanos came from the fact that the Mad Titan had killed his alien family.
