There’s a good movie waiting to be made from Todd McFarlane’s comic book series, but in the meantime here’s a version from the director of Frankenfish and the writer of Halloween 4: The Return Of Michael Myers.

“The Special Effects Movie Event Of The Year,” proclaims the poster, somewhat unwisely for a picture released shortly before Titanic.

The movie also stacks up badly against The Crow, with which it shares several similarities, but it lacks that film’s mood and terrific urban hell production design. There is a wise-cracking demon clown who breaks wind, though.
