20 Coolest Tracking Shots In Movie History

11. Gravity

Gravity Film
Warner Bros

While some might dismiss the inclusion of the opening sequence from Gravity on this list since it contains a great deal of CGI, the dramatic effect and impact this carefully crafted sequence exhibits makes it a must-see.

We can thank ace cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki for bringing this edge-of-your-seat sequence to life, while Alfonso CuarĂ³n's stylish direction keeps the level of immersion high. It's one of the few blockbusters which absolutely has to be seen in 3D, too, coming as close as any space-bound movie yet in inducing a feeling of weightlessness.
