5. Drunk Troi - Star Trek: First Contact

Troi DrunkParamount PicturesMarina Sirtis is many things, but a comedic actress she is not. She was once quoted as saying that Troi was crap in comic scenes because "Troi has no timing," but that applies better to Sirtis. She also can't do drunk acting, and that's what makes her first scene with Zefram Cochran, in which she's drunk the whole time, so difficult to stomach. It's a bit like watching a favorite aunt get plastered at a wedding reception, but without the drunken pawing of the DJ. While it's somewhat amusing to give her professional opinion of Cochran ("He's nuts"), there's very little else about this scene that warrants its inclusion in the movie, apart from reminding us that Cletus Spuckler from The Simpsons is the father of the warp drive. Of course, the next scene's going to remind us of that, anyway...
