20 Most Critically Reviled Films Of 2014

8. The Nut Job

10% - 88 Reviews Remember that rule about how any CGI animated film that doesn't involve Pixar or Dreamworks probably isn't worth watching? Here's another prize example, a singularly cynical, shallow movie totally lacking in any sort of charm or invention. That's The Nut Job in, well, a nutshell, really. With a frankly bizarre cast list that includes Will Arnett, Brendan Fraser, Gabriel Iglesias, Jeff Dunham, Liam Neeson and Katherine Heigl and a budget of $42.8 million, The Nut Job is the most expensive animated film co-produced in South Korea, and was a box office success despite being totally panned; sequel planned for 2016. Choice review quote: €œAs a CG-rendered Psy launches into a rendition of 'Gangnam Style' you'll be rushing straight for the exit.€ (Digital Spy) (yeah, that happens)
