20 Doctor Who Actors Who Have Been In Star Wars (& 2 Who Will Be)

12. Peter Cushing

Perhaps the most obvious example of an actor to have starred in both franchises is the legendary Peter Cushing. Of course, he provided a standout performance as Grand Moff Tarkin in A New Hope, but he also played "Dr. Who" himself (and yes, that's how the character is billed!) in the 1965 film Dr. Who and the Daleks as well as its 1966 sequel, Daleks - Invasion Earth: 2150 A.D. The only thing that prevents Cushing from being placed higher in this list is the trivial detail that his Dr. Who films were adaptations of two of William Hartnell's stories. Cushing's portrayal of "Dr. Who" is a testament to his acting prowess - his kindhearted time traveller could not be a more striking contrast from the callous Tarkin.
