20 Easter Eggs From Spider-Man: No Way Home You May Have Missed

18. Connections To Previous Spider-Man Movies

Aside from including previous heroes and villains, No Way Home goes out of its way to pay tribute to the films that came before it:

- When Peter detects Doc Ock about to emerge on the bridge, the same type of zoom shot as in Spider-Man 2, just before that Peter detects Doc Ock throwing a car at him, is used

- Doc Ock's attempt to regain control of his arms from Peter with a harsh 'Listen to me!' echoes the Doc's last scene in Spider-Man 2 when he regains control of his arms

- The scene where Norman leaves his Goblin suit in the trash is shot the same as when Peter disposes of his suit in Spider-Man 2, which was itself inspired by the famous cover of Amazing Spider-Man #50 'Spider-Man No More'

- 'I'm something of a scientist myself'. Norman repeats this meme'd line to Peter after being trapped in Strange's cell

- Just before the final battle, Spider-Maguire is stretching and mentions having back pain. This is alluding to Maguire's real-life back injury that almost saw him replaced in Spider-Man 2 AND the scene in that film where he fell off a building onto a parked car, hurting his back. Meta upon meta.

- Spider-Maguire tells Spider-Garfield 'You're amazing', a nod to both Garfield's movies and Spider-Man's classic comic adjective

- Spider-Maguire stops Peter from impaling the Goblin with his own glider, thereby preventing the death of the Goblin he experienced in his own reality
