12. Creative Graffiti And Signs

Marvel has always been good at making references through things like street and business names, licence plates and background characters. No Way Home has its fair share:

- While Peter and MJ are on the school roof, a large graffiti tag reading 'DITKO' can be seen behind them. Another 'DITKO' is on the FEAST truck when it pulls up in front of the Sanctum Sanctorum. These are a tribute to legendary Marvel artist Steve Ditko, who had a hand in not only creating Spider-Man, but also Dr Strange, Doctor Octopus, the Green Goblin, Sandman, Electro, and The Lizard.

In other words, pretty much every major character in the movie. A nice touch.

- Another section of the school roof shows 'GKane' graffiti. This to honour another Spider-Man artist, Gil Kane, who had a hand in one of the quintessential Spider-Man storylines, The Death of Gwen Stacy. This story played a massive role in shaping Spider-Man's character, as well as defining the Green Goblin as Peter's archenemy and was a huge part of The Amazing Spider-Man 2

- The licence plate on the vehicle of the MIT Admissions Officer that Peter tracks down on the bridge says 63ASM-3. Or, translated into English, Amazing Spider-Man #3 from 1963, the first appearance of Doc Ock, just before he emerges on the bridge

- In the same scene, a taxicab has ID 1228. This is the nod to Stan Lee (his birthday) that virtually every Marvel movie includes
