20 Easter Eggs From Spider-Man: No Way Home You May Have Missed

13. Flash Thompson Rewrites History

Eugene 'Flash' Thompson has been, at turns, a thorn in Peter's side and one of his closest friends and allies.

As played by Tony Revolori in the modern Spider-Man films, Flash is more of a psychological bully for Peter than a physical one, as he was portrayed in early comic appearances and the Raimi Spider-Man films. This Flash is an egotistical jackass who lives only for his own accomplishments and self-promotion, and No Way Home is no exception.

Flash has added blonde streaks to his dark hair, more in line with his comics origin. Since the events of Far From Home, he has also written a book about his close relationship with Spider-Man called 'Flashpoint.'

Given the fact that DC and Marvel have occasionally taken gentle shots at each other in their recent films, it doesn't seem an accident that Flashpoint also refers to a pivotal DC storyline that is being adapted as a Flash movie.

Flashpoint involves The Flash accidentally creating new history and causing people to forget loved ones, a theme that is obviously present in No Way Home. The title is also a riff on Flash rewriting his own history as Peter's best friend and cashing in on it.

This one is a treat for fans of comics in general, not just Marvel fans.
